Hi-lites to close location in downtown Bennettsville
Officials with Hi-lites, a ladies' clothing store, announced Wednesday that it will close after more than 25 years in Bennettsville.
Todd Griffin, who works with the company's corporate office and helped to open the store originally, said the closing is due to economics and lack of sales at the location.
He added a final closing date has not been determined.
"But the store will be opened for a few more weeks," Griffin said. "The entire store is on sale. We appreciate the many, many loyal customers we have had."
Hi-lites has been in the county for more than 25 years. It first opened in the shopping center where Food Lion is located. Later, it moved to 201 East Main St.
The store will continue with its regular business hours of 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
Store Manager Tracy Locklear shared her appreciation of customers.
"Thank you to all the customers for all their support over the years," said Locklear, who has been a manager for 17 years.
Griffin said there are two other Hi-lites stores in the area. One is in downtown Laurinburg, 219 S. Main St. and downtown Dillon, 118 W. Main St.
