Bulldogs host NMB with region title on the line
Tuesday night, the Marlboro County High varsity boys will host North Myrtle Beach with a lot at stake. The Bulldogs need a victory over NMB to seal their first region title since the 2015-16 season.
The Bulldogs blasted Wilson 57-25 Friday to guarantee a share of the title, but they will need a victory Tuesday, or a Myrtle Beach loss to Hartsville to lock up the championship.
"If we end up in a tie with Myrtle Beach, they would get the top seed in the playoffs because they would win the tie-breaker," confirmed head coach LaTroy Brace Monday morning.
The Bulldogs and Chiefs will tip-off immediately following the girls' contest, which starts at 6 p.m. It is the regular-season finale for the Bulldogs.
The boys' team is assured of a home game in the opening round of the state playoffs, which begin Wednesday, February 19.
The girls' team, which lost to Wilson Friday night, will also make their first playoff appearance in several years. Their playoffs will start on February 18.
