MCCOLL – CareSouth Carolina announced Tasha Smith, MSW, LMSW, as the latest provider in the McColl Health & Wellness Center.

Smith came to CareSouth Carolina as an intern in 2020 and said she likes the “whole patient approach” that CSC uses to treat its patients.

“We work to find the best solution,” Smith said. “Patients aren’t only receiving care for a physical ailment, we use a team approach to make this a one-stop place. We work alongside medical providers to make sure the whole patient is being treated.”

Smith, who has served at the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) as a case manager and family preservation specialist, received her bachelors in social work from Coker University in 2019 and her graduate degree from Winthrop University.

Smith specializes in integrated behavioral health, which blends care in one setting for medical conditions and related behavioral health factors that affect health and well-being.

“The most rewarding part for me is helping people overcome difficulties and challenges,” Smith said. “Life can be hard and we all are going to face opposition and challenges. I offer a support and I want my patients to know that they’re not alone, that I’m working to assist them in finding solutions and sometimes that listening ear can make a big difference.”

Outside of work, Smith enjoys shopping, traveling and reading.
