BENNETTSVILLE—The City of Bennettsville is thrilled to announce the first Downtown Dash and Bash, set to take place on Saturday, October 19. The festivities will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with the Downtown Dash, a 1-mile fun run/walk, 5K, and 10K that winds through the streets of Bennettsville. Participants of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to join in, with registration available online and on the day of the event. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in various age categories, and all participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and race medal.

The Downtown Dash & Bash is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of community spirit and revitalization. Starting in the scenic downtown area, runners and walkers will experience the charm of Bennettsville as they make their way through the thoughtfully planned routes. Whether you’re a seasoned runner aiming for a personal best or a family looking for a fun-filled day, this event has something for everyone.

Following the Dash, the Bash will commence at 10:00 a.m. in the heart of downtown on Main Street. The Bash will feature live music, food trucks offering a variety of delicious cuisine, vendors, and a kids’ zone with games and activities. This year’s Bash will also include a special showcase of local businesses and community organizations, highlighting the ongoing efforts to rejuvenate our downtown area.

City Administrator, William Simon Jr. expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The Downtown Dash and Bash is a fantastic opportunity for us to bring people together, promote health and wellness, and showcase the vibrant spirit of our downtown area. We are always happy when we can partner with our local community to organize events, and we couldn’t be happier to work with The County Nutrition to kick-off this inaugural run. ”

In addition to the fun and festivities, the event serves as a fundraiser for future downtown revitalization projects. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and organizations looking to gain visibility and show their support for the community.

Sponsors will receive prominent recognition in event materials, on race day signage, and through various promotional channels.

Vendor and food truck spots are also available, providing a great platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase their offerings to a large and enthusiastic audience. This is an excellent chance to connect with the community and be part of a memorable event.

We invite everyone to join us for a day of celebration, fitness, and community pride. For more information and to register for the Downtown Dash, please visit https://bit.ly/DowntownDashandBash or contact Brittany Jones, Business Development and Community Engagement Manager at 843-479-9001 ext. 354.
