BENNETTSVILLE — Saturday, the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office reported an early morning shooting resulting in the death of Prezodous “Prep” Jenkins, 31, that occurred on Atkins Street outside Mr. G’s, formerly the Knife and Fork Night Club in Laurinburg on the outskirts of Bennettsville.
Despite the MCSO reporting up to 200 patrons present at the time of the murder, eyewitness testimony and information have been slow to trickle in, prompting Jenkin’s family to offer a reward of $5,000 for the apprehension of anyone involved in the incident.
The MCSO released the following statement: “This investigation is in its preliminary stages. Another senseless killing of an innocent individual has occurred. The cowardly act of another has impacted numerous lives, and hundreds of individuals at the location are not willing to come forward and assist in solving the horrific tragedy. This could easily have been one of you at that location.”
