MARLBORO COUNTY — Marlboro County High School Baseball Team’s very own Triston Quick has officially broken the single-season strikeout record in 2025. A record that stood strong since 2008 at 67 Strikeouts.
Here’s what we’ve learned about Triston this year:
With 995 pitches thrown throughout 57 innings, a whip at 1.175, an openers batting average against him is .197 which you cannot deny coming from a 87 mph speed ball. Sophomore Quick wearing number 4 with pride and rewriting the record books one pitch at a time currently lands him at 90 strikeouts! A shattering moment, 23 strikeouts ahead of the old, which is now the record.
Triston is an all A & B Honor Roll Student who works hard on and off the field. His academics are aligned with his track record in baseball. And as his story continues, we are on the sidelines watching a young man in the pursuit of something far greater.
