BENNETTSVILLE — Demarcus Benjamin is said to be a first time baseball coach and if you didn’t know who he was, you would find that hard to believe.
With such a humble spirit, as some coaches have when stepping up to lead by example, he gives more credit and recognition to those who assisted him, such as Chandler Hood, Jimmy Miller, and Mikayla Pammel-Benjamin (his wife), all who came together as one unit.
With each collective kid on the team, this was indeed an exuberating season. Nonetheless, unity was formed, a band of brothers were created and in this midst of it all, champions were born.
Ten glorious wins, Bennesville 8u baseball team was one game shy of being undefeated — a marvelous season indeed.
As predicted, coach Benjamin did not go without saying, “Thank you to our amazing parents who made sure the kids were at the games on time, brought snacks to every game and most importantly, trusted us to help their kids grow a passion for the game!”
