Dear Editor:
I cast my absentee ballot yesterday and hope that all citizens will do the patriotic thing by voting for the candidates that they feel will serve the citizens of our county and state to the best ability.
That said it is no secret that I do not support the current administration, nor do I support our current state representatives in the State House and Senate. Our current representative in the State House, Mrs. Henegan, does not seem to support all of the residents of District 54. Her opponent Sterling McDiarmid will not only represent all of the citizens of District 54 but he will support Christian values and bring prosperity back to District 54. Case in point, Mrs. Henegan has strongly supported the anti-Christian values of the Biden Administration as well as worked heartily to promote abortion in our state. Sterling does not support abortion. He is a strong Christian businessman with the know how to bring prosperity back to our district.
Mrs. Henegan loves the photo op! Just this week she showed up in McColl when Superintendent Molly Spearman presented a check for $3 million dollars to the Marlboro County School District for facilities maintenance. Dillon County got $8 million dollars. She had zero input in gaining these funds. Yet there she is claiming responsibility. Shame, shame, shame! Maybe if she had possibly worked on this just maybe Marlboro County could have gotten a bigger piece of the pie as Dillon did!
The Democrats have ruled Marlboro County as long as I can remember. Look at where it has gotten us. The downtown area is reminiscent of a real ghost town. Businesses are closing. Industry is moving out of the county. Along with that are the lost jobs that result. The recent closure of the Oak River Mills plant is a classic example. 600 families have been impacted by this one closing. I wonder how many of those families will continue to blindly vote for Democrats?
The classic definition of stupidity is continuing to do the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. It is time for change at all levels. Every one of us are being penalized by inflation. The cost of gas is up 18.2%; groceries up 13.2%; milk is up 15.2%; baby food is up 11.8%; and I could go on! My point is simply this. The leftist policies of the Biden administration are directly responsible for this inflation. Just think about what your trip to the grocery store cost you two years ago!
If things continue at this rate, our standard of living here in the county will be intolerable. We each can change the direction of our county and state. I urge every citizen of our county to vote in the November 8th election for change!
