A Bennettsville man was arrested on Wednesday for grand larceny and burglary.

The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Dolphin Lane in the Bennettsville area of Marlboro County on Wednesday (March 30) about two subjects unlawfully entering a storage building located behind a residence.

Officials said an investigator with the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office located the two suspects in which they ran.

Deputies and Investigators spent the next several hours searching the area and were able to arrest Samuel Derrick Young, 36, of Bennettsville for grand larceny, burglary third degree, and resisting arrest.

Young was transported to the Marlboro County Detention Center for booking.

Another arrest, in this case, is expected soon.

The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the citizens of Marlboro County as they received numerous calls about sightings of the two suspects as they were on the run.
