MCCOLL—The S.C. Highway Patrol reports a fatality in a single vehicle accident that occured on August 14, north of McColl.
According to Master Trooper Gary Miller, around 5:20 p.m. a driver was traveling on Pea Bridge Road, near McGuirt Drive on Monday, August 14. in a 2004 Ford wrecker.
“[The vehicle] traveled off the northside of the roadway, lost control, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree,” Miller reported.
The driver of the vehicle, who was the only person involved in the accident, passed away on Monday, August 21, according to Miller. Marlboro County Corner Tim Brown identified the driver as 73-year-old Jennings Jackson.
At this time, the S.C. Highway Patrol has not released the name of the victim and said no additional information is available at this time.
