After over two years without having regular quarterly meetings (due to Covid), the Marlboro Men’s Ministry is back in full swing.
McColl COG, with Rev. Donald Deal, hosted the summer meeting in July. Rev. Brian Oxendine and Oak Hill COG in October, and most recently Centerpointe PH in Laurinburg with Rev. Wayne Gibson on Jan. 9.
At this meeting, Carol Jacobs was presented with a plaque in loving memory and honor of longtime president Ricky Jacobs. He passed during the COVID layoff (but not due to COVID). Brother Robert Freeman was also presented with a plaque for his long service as a long-time secretary-treasurer. He has stepped down.
At our meeting at Oak Hill, new officers were installed. They are William Grooms, president, James Roller, vice president, and Jerry Coxe, secretary/treasurer.
During the COVID period, the Marlboro Men’s Ministry still made several charitable contributions to several families. The group plans to have a car show on Oct. 14 as the primary fundraiser.
