Filing is underway for the Marlboro County Board of Education Chair and Districts 2, 3, 5, 7, and 8 seats.
The following people have filed:
– Chairman: Michael Coachman
– District 2: Wyvette Douglas, Michael Toms
– District 3: Robert Goff, Charles Graham (Incumbent)
– District 5: Dr. Rippin McLeod Jr.
– District 7: Danny Driggers (Incumbent), Deborah Peterkin
– District 8: Farrell Bethea, Rena Smith McLain, Artemus Woods Jr., and Leevander McRae Jr.
Filing will end at noon on Friday, July 29. Citizens who desire to be candidates may file at the Marlboro County Voter Registration and Elections Office, 119 S. Marlboro Street in Bennettsville. There is no filing fee.
The election is Tuesday, Nov. 8. The last day to register to vote for the General Election is on Oct. 7.
