WALLACE – Wallace Elementary Middle School welcomed special guests for a special fire safety activity, giving students an engaging and memorable opportunity to learn important lessons about fire prevention.

Board member Bryan Sweatt, members of the Wallace Fire Department and Marlboro County High School students visited Pre-K through 2nd-grade classrooms to share important lessons on fire safety and prevention.

Students were excited to interact with the firefighters and high school students, receive small gifts and explore fire trucks up close. The hands-on experience allowed students to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of fire prevention in a fun and interactive way.

“This event was not only educational but also a fun and memorable experience for our students,” said Jarriel Jacobs, principal of Wallace Elementary Middle School. “We are grateful to Mr. Sweatt, the Wallace Fire Department, and the Marlboro County High School students for investing their time to support the safety and well-being of our students.”

The program highlighted the value of community partnerships and demonstrated how schools and first responders can collaborate to equip students with life-saving knowledge and skills.
