SCOTLAND COUNTY — Scotland Health is proud to announce the expansion of its specialty care services with the addition of Dr. Sanjay P. Shah, MD, FCCP, a board-certified Pulmonologist, Sleep Medicine, Critical Care, and Internal Medicine physician. Dr. Shah will begin seeing patients in September at Scotland Pulmonology, located at 601 Lauchwood Drive in Laurinburg.
With over 28 years of experience, Dr. Shah brings a wealth of expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of pulmonary and sleep disorders. His clinical interests include sleep apnea, COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer, among many others. He is also highly skilled in interpreting sleep studies, pulmonary function tests, and managing ventilator-dependent patients.
Dr. Shah completed his medical education at Government Medical College in Surat, India, followed by residency and fellowship training in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine at Catholic Medical Centers of Brooklyn and Queens and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has held leadership roles as Medical Director at multiple sleep centers and has served as an attending physician at the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus since 2000.

Dr. Shah is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Medical Association. He is married with two children, and enjoys travel, nature, music, soccer, and physical fitness.
