BENNETTSVILLE — In a heartfelt display of service and solidarity, Mayor Tyron Abraham hosted a community giveaway this weekend that brought smiles, support and essential resources to families across Marlboro County. The event, held in partnership with Dyers Hill AME Zion Church and The Christ Closet Organization of Charlotte, NC, was a powerful reminder of what can happen when faith and leadership come together for the greater good.

Plenty of residents gathered to receive free clothing, bikes, household items and personal care supplies, all distributed with warmth and dignity. Volunteers from both sponsoring organizations worked side by side with local leaders to ensure every guest felt seen and supported.

“This is what community looks like,” said Mayor Abraham. “When we come together — churches, nonprofits and neighbors — we create real change.”

The City of Bennettsville and Marlboro County extend their deepest gratitude to all who made the event possible. It was more than a giveaway — it was a celebration of compassion, unity and the power of giving back.
