Bennettsville Police arrest man on drug charges near a school

Jarick Thomas was arrested after a drug search warrant was executed at his home on Thursday. 
Detectives with the Bennettsville Police Department and K9 unit executed the warrant at 227 Grace Street (Richardson Park).
A search of the home uncovered 22.5 grams of crack cocaine and 2.5 lbs of marijuana along with currency. 
According to Lt. Larry Turner, Thomas was charged with trafficking crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within half-mile proximity of a school. Thomas was taken into custody at the residence without incident. 
Turner said at the time of the arrest, Thomas was already out on bond with GPS monitoring for attempted murder and numerous pending drug charges. 
Thomas is currently incarcerated at the Marlboro County Detention awaiting a bond hearing. 
This is an ongoing investigation and more arrests and charges may follow. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
