Summertime means the Marlboro County Farmers Market is in full swing, with local vegetable producers peddling their wares every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Food pantry in desperate need of supplies

The Bread of Life Food Pantry has been in operation for 20 years and, for the first time in those 20 years, is facing the possibility of closing their doors because the food supplies are almost gone.

Teen, 16, charged with attempted murder

A 16-year-old boy charged with attempted murder in the shooting of another teenager last weekend in Bennettsville is out on bond following a bond hearing at the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia Wednesday.

Sports bar deemed nuisance, business license revoked
Legends Sports Bar is out of business, as a result of  action taken by Bennettsville City Council at its regular monthly meeting Tuesday night.
The council unanimously voted to revoke the business license for the private club, which is located at 112-1/2 South Marlboro Street, effective Wednesday morning.
