County council approves funding to help indigent citizens pay solid waste fee
Marlboro County Council approved Tuesday at their monthly meeting funding to provide financial assistance for indigent citizens needing help to pay their solid waste fee.
Council members approved up to $20,000 for the program, which will be administered by the Chesterfield-Marlboro Economic Opportunity Council.
Applicants of the funds must meet the poverty level thresholds used by the EOC for other utility payment assistance programs administered by the agency.
They must be the owner of record of the property to which the solid waste fee has been assessed.
