South Carolina’s schools will remain closed for the month of April

COLUMBIA – Governor Henry McMaster and South Carolina Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman today (March  released the following joint statement announcing that South Carolina’s schools will remain closed for the duration of the month of April:

SCDOR extends Income Tax deadline to align with IRS and temporarily allows curbside sale of beer and wine by restaurants

In response to the challenges of COVID-19 and in accordance with Executive Order 2020-12, the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) is moving the due date for Income Tax returns and payments originally due April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020 and is temporarily allowing retailers who meet certain requirements to sell sealed containers of beer and wine for curbside/drive-thru pickup for off-premises consumption.

Gov. Henry McMaster issues executive order 2020-13

COLUMBIA – Governor Henry McMaster today issued Executive Order 2020-13 and the following statement: 

DHEC reports two additional COVID-19 related deaths

COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) today (March 23) is reporting the state’s fourth and fifth deaths related to the novel coronavirus COVID-19. This brings the state’s total number of deaths to five.

SCDHEC advises there is NOT A CONFIRMED CASE of COVID-19 in Marlboro County

Marlboro County officials were advised Sunday afternoon (March 22) by SCDHEC that the agency mistakenly identified a positive test result as a Marlboro County resident.
