The Marlboro County Board of Education chairman and two new members were installed on the board Monday night.
Board chairman Larry McNeil took the oath of office along with new members Rev. James Smith in District 5 and Katherine Manville in District 8.
McNeil welcomed those in attendance.
"It means a lot for all of us to have so many people here," he said. "We pray and hope you will continue coming."
After the installation ceremony, where Solicitor Will Rogers presided, board members had an executive session. They returned to elect a vice chairman and secretary for the board. Board members voted by paper ballot.
For vice chairman, Jackie Branch and Michael Coachman were nominated. Branch was elected vice chairman with a vote of 5-4.
Janice Bright and Macky Norton were nominated for the secretary. Bright was elected with a vote of 7-2.
In other business, whenever there is a change in the elected officers such as board chairman or superintendent, a new banking resolution must be completed.
Wes Park, chief financial officer for the district, said all checks written by the district require a minimum of two signatures. If the check is $5,000 or more, it requires a third signature.
Board unanimously authorized McNeil, Park and Superintendent Dr. Gregory McCord to be included on the district's signature cards for the various accounts that the district maintains.
