Search is on for missing man
Bennettsville police continue to investigate the disappearance of a man who has been missing for almost a week.
Johnny Ray Adams, 64, of 214 South Parsonage Street, Apartment F, was last seen Thursday night, June 15. He had been in McColl that evening but was brought back to his home by a family member and has not been seen or heard from since.

Employees of Glenn Waterproofing of Charlotte remove some of the faulty seal material in the Lake Paul Wallace spillway.  The work is expected to be finished within a week, allowing the lake to be refilled.

Jean Quick named Rotary Four-Way Test Good Citizen of the Year
Bennettsville business owner and city councilman Jean Quick was named as the Rotary Club of Bennettsville's Four-Way Test Good Citizen for 2017.  Quick was honored at the club's Tuesday lunch meeting at The Skye.
Lon Lester, chairman of the club's Four-Way Test award selection committee, told about the award that the club has bestowed on a deserving community member since 1987.

Joint use agreement still needed for Walker Park project to proceed

Bennettsville City Council once again took up the matter of Walker Park during a workshop on Monday.
Mayor Heath Harpe brought it up, saying he had received some inquiries about the status of a joint use agreement approved by a majority of the council more than a year ago, in April 2016.
