A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Robert Lee Covington Jr.

Investigator Clay Anderson said the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office responded to Patricia St. in the Bennettsville area on Dec. 14, 2021 about a shooting incident.

Once on the scene, law enforcement discovered a deceased male, later identified as Robert Lee Covington Jr., AKA “Rabbit” of Bennettsville.

“The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office is treating this case as a homicide,” Anderson said.
