Bulldogs thrash Lakewood for homecoming win

Bulldogs thrash Lakewood for homecoming win
There is nothing like a game with Lakewood to turn a high school football season around.  Marlboro County has used the Gators more than once to do just that.
Coach Dean Boyd hopes that Friday night's 42-13 win over Lakewood will bring a change in fortune to his 2015 team.
"It was a very good effort by the defense.  On offense, we weren't really in sync but did enough to get the win," said Boyd.
"After the last three weeks, we will celebrate any kind of win," he said.  The Bulldogs had lost the previous three games by more than 20 points.

Under perfect conditions, it would be difficult for this Marlboro County High football team to defeat the top-ranked Hartsville Red Foxes.  Friday night was far from ideal weather.
With the monsoonal rains that hit South Carolina over the weekend just kicking into high gear, the Bulldogs fell to the Foxes, 34-12.

Bulldogs still playing despite the weather

As of 1 p.m. Friday, the Marlboro County - Hartsville football game will take place despite the rainy weather.  The Bulldogs and Red Foxes are scheduled to kick off at 7:30 tonight at Kellytown Stadium, near Hartsville.

After a tough game against Conway, the Marlboro County High defense set their sights on redeeming themselves against Dillon.
They did a fine job of containing Dillon's star quarterback Avery McCall, holding him to just over 50 yards total offense.  The Bulldogs shut down all but one of the Wildcats' many other weapons.

Marlboro County - Dillon game postponed until Saturday

The Marlboro County High - Dillon High football game scheduled for tonight has been postponed until Saturday at 6 p.m. due to inclement weather.  The game will still be played at Dillon Memorial Stadium.
