Post 213 finishes fourth in the state
After falling in the opening game of the South Carolina Junior American Legion baseball championship tournament, Marlboro's Post 213 battled to reach the fourth round this week in Inman.
The team's bid for a state title was cut short Tuesday, as Aiken came from behind to defeat Marlboro 6-4.
"I'm very proud of our guys and the way they played. It is a big accomplishment to make it that far and finish as one of the top four teams in the state," said head coach Ryan Pierce.

Marlboro County's Post 213 Junior Legion baseball team is headed to the state championship tournament. Wednesday's victory over Camden to finish a two-game sweep of the series came with a dramatic seventh inning.
Marlboro's Clint English provided a walk-off single that scored Hunter Barfield, breaking a 6-6 tie and setting off a celebration by the Post 213 players.

One of Marlboro County High's most successful baseball seasons ever came to an end, thanks to the Hanahan Hawks. The North Charleston school defeated the Bulldogs 6-2 Wednesday night to eliminate Marlboro from the Class AAA playoffs.
