Trinity Behavioral Care has been allocated $500,000 in state funding to begin construction on a local addiction treatment and prevention facility in Marlboro County.

Recently, Rep. Patricia Henegan announced a modern 5,000 square-foot outpatient counseling center with the capacity to provide care to one thousand clients annually will be constructed.

“We currently provide evidence based substance use disorder counseling to about five hundred Marlboro County clients annually in space whose capacity is far less than local demand. Trinity’s prevention initiatives touch thousands of residents”, said Donnie Brock, director of Trinity.

The space Marlboro County provided Trinity was lost due to mold in 2013. With no affordable space available, Tri County Mental Health agreed to rent a small wing of their Bennettsville facility to Trinity allowing continued provision of local alcohol and drug counseling services.

Trinity Behavioral Care functions as the Marlboro County Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. The organization is a provider within the SC Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS) system.

Trinity is nationally accredited by CARF and licensed by DHEC.
