The annual Marlboro County High School Bulldogs Alumni Softball game was on Feb. 25.

The players were split into two teams by graduation year. Team Black was 2004-2010 while Team Gold was 2011-2022.

A nine-inning game was played between the Black and Gold Alumni Teams.

Matt Kubas pitched for both teams while they took turns on offense and defense. The players were eager to get back on the field and it didn’t take long for them to get back into the routine of things.

Players were diving after balls, throwing out runners, turning double plays, and hitting line drives and dingers. The fence was lined with spectators enjoying a night of fun on the dirt and under the lights.

Kona Ice and Fuji’s Snack Shack flooded the hands of spectators and players with delicious food and Snow Cones.

“It was such a great turnout this year with players and fans of the sport, said Coach TJ Harp, who organized the annual event. “We are all looking forward to the next game in 2023 and hoping we have even more come to play and watch.”
