The annual Marlboro County High School Bulldogs Alumni Softball game is Friday.

Alumni softball players will battle it out on their home field against one another at 7 p.m. Friday.

This will be the fourth year for the alumni game.

MCHS Junior Varsity Coach TJ Harp said normally they don’t have enough people for two teams to play one another. Usually, they end up having to play current players versus alumni.

“So this year we actually have two teams of alumni players,” she said. “I’m very excited to see two great teams with the alumni battle it out against each other.”

There are two goals for the Alumni Softball game. It is not only to raise money for the program but to get people out to support the team that they come from.

“It brings an audience out here just to grow the sport,” she said. “Softball is always put on the back burner. So we just want to make sure these girls are recognized.

Harp would like to eventually get to the point where the school could host a tournament of alumni players.

In addition to a great softball game, there will be Fuji’s Snack Shack and Kona Ice.

“So get here a little bit earlier,” Harp said. “Get your food, get a good seat and enjoy the game.”
