Former Marlboro County High School Firefighting students received state and national certifications from the CTE Department at the July 18 meeting of the Marlboro County Board of Education.

Firefighter Instructor Chuck Black did the honors. The certificates for the Class of 2021 students were delayed, so they were brought back to be recognized along with the 2022 graduates.

Kenneth Britt received Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations and High School Firefighter 1 certifications.

Ashton Eppolito received Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations and High School Firefighter 1 certifications.

Seth Feldner received Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, High School Firefighter 1, NFPA Firefighter 1 (National Certification), Basic Auto Extrication, and High School Firefighter 2 certifications.

Gunner Gardner received Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, and High School Firefighter 1 certifications.

Jaheem McLaurin received Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, High School Firefighter 1, Basic Auto Extrication, and High School Firefighter 2 certifications.

Waylon Sheppard received Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, High School Firefighter 1, Basic Auto Extrication, and High School Firefighter 2 certifications.

Hunter Webb received Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, High School Firefighter 1, NFPA Firefighter 1 (National Certification), Basic Auto Extrication, High School Firefighter 2, and Emergency Vehicle Driver Training.

Most of these young men are currently working as volunteer or full-time fireman in various sections of the county.
