The Bennettsville Police Department filed the following reports:

Feb. 23

– Police were advised by Central Dispatch of a disturbance at Cookout at 7:29 p.m. with a car occupied by juveniles throwing trash and arguing with one of the juvenile employees. The employee closed the drive-thru window and refused to continue providing services to them. The customers had their money refunded and were told not to return by the police.

Feb. 24

– A hit and run occurred at the Sprint Gas Station when a black Chevy pickup truck backed into the EMS 3 ambulance and left the scene. The driver, an employee of the gas station, returned from a family situation. He did not realize that he had hit the vehicle. There were no physical injuries or visible damages to either vehicle.

Feb. 25

– Police responded to Walmart at 8 p.m. about a theft that had already occurred. The complainant said a white male and his two small children entered the store at 2:56 p.m. The subject walked to the Pokémon trading cards at the front of the store, grabbed several packs of the cards ($435), and walked to another store area. The complainant said the subject placed the cards in the bottom of his cart and put two large stuffed animals on top of the cards. While at the self-checkout, he scanned the stuffed animals and two other items but not the cards. He left the store without paying for the items.

–Natorin E. Watson, 19, of Wallace was cited for simple possession of marijuana.

Feb. 26

–Police were dispatched to Broad Street near Wells Fargo at 7:25 p.m. for a hit and run. The driver said he was traveling on Broad Street toward Main Street when a grey four-door Chrysler sedan hit him in the rear and continued driving. The driver said he pulled into Wells Fargo and thought the other vehicle would pull behind him. The vehicle continued to drive toward Main Street and turned right.

Feb. 27

–Police were dispatched to Lee Street about a break-in at 12:31 a.m. The complainant came outside as police arrived and began yelling for them to hurry up and come inside. The complainant said Brandee C. Sweatt, 42, of Bennettsville had broken the window and didn’t live there. Sweatt was arrested for disorderly conduct.

The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office filed the following reports:

Feb. 23

– The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office contacted investigators at 10:30 a.m. about Daniel Howard Dixon, 27, at a residence in Bennettsville. The DEA wanted Dixon for a federal indictment. Sheriff’s Office officials and Bennettsville Police knocked on the residence door and asked for Dixon, who was there. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Marlboro and Chesterfield Counties line, where a DEA agent and a Cheraw Police Department Detective took custody of Dixon.
