The first STEM Day was Jan. 12 at Marian Wright Edelman Public Library. It was a chance for youth to participate in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) based learning. Legos, robots, raspberry pi computers, engineering, circuit, and electricity interactive learning kits were used. Above MWE Library Assistant Nicole Hendrix, left, helped Hannah Grooms and Buddy Grooms construct a laser maze. At right, fourth graders Nathaniel Bennett, left, and Logan Adamsen worked on an electrical project. STEM Day will be held on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m.-noon in the children's room of MWE. The next one is Feb. 2.
