Three members of Northeastern Technical College’s faculty and staff were recently named local winners of the South Carolina Technical Education Association (SCTEA) Educator of the Year Awards.

Hope Pigg of Mt. Croghan was selected for Administrator of the Year for her exceptional management skills as the Director of Nursing for NETC.

James Tarasiewicz of Chesterfield was selected for Faculty Member of the Year for his outstanding performance as a faculty member in the Automotive/Diesel department of the college.

Meirisa Coleman of Florence was nominated for Staff Person of the Year for her dedication and commitment to the college as Manager of the Enrollment Center.

The award winners will be recognized at the annual SCTEA conference being held virtually in February and will be designated as the local nominees for the association’s statewide awards.

Each year, faculty and staff at each of South Carolina’s technical colleges nominate local winners, and local selection committees evaluate the individuals against performance criteria established by the SCTEA. This year, faculty and staff at Northeastern Technical College chose Pigg, Tarasiewicz, and Coleman to represent the college.
