Clio Rural Fire Department held its annual Firefighter’s Christmas Party on Dec. 4.

There was good food, good fellowship, and good news! Three members were recognized as firefighter II graduates, which is a certification recognizing them as nationally accredited personnel and is the same level of training as any large department in the nation. They are Darrow McRae Jr., Brittany Brew, and Dani Brew.

The Firefighter of the Year was long-serving Chief Donald Floyd. Floyd has been a cornerstone of the department since its inception and never misses a call without good reason. The department and community thanked him for his dedicated service.

For those interested in becoming a firefighter, the Clio Rural Fire Department is always taking applications for new members and would love for anyone interested to come by and see what they are about, whether you have experience or not.
